Welcome to Healthy U!

Healthy U is an adult primary care medical clinic staffed with M.D. physicians who are focused on preventative care and natural, non-drug treatments. Our mission is to help your learn and understand your unique personal health risks, so that you can do something to change them before a chronic disease or a disability strikes.

Our clinic is different, since we don’t just reach for our prescription pads first – here, our philosophy is to help our patients manage their health conditions first through medically-directed nutrition and physical fitness programs, and appropriate nutritional supplements to make sure your body has what it needs to operate at its peak. We minimize the use of prescription drugs to only when medically necessary for your health.

We’re not a “concierge practice” – to us, it just doesn’t seem right to have our patients pay an extra retainer or surcharge just to get the personalized, one-on-one care they deserve. At Healthy U, we accept most major insurance plans – and you’ll enjoy easy online scheduling, little to no wait time, full attention from our friendly staff, and doctors who take the time to get to know you, your personal health concerns, and your current health conditions. In addition, all of our patients leave with the contact information for their lead physician, so they have unlimited access to their physician whenever they need it. If for some reason you don’t have insurance, don’t worry – our self-pay patients never pay more than what insurance would have reimbursed.

I'm not old, and I feel fine.  Why do I need to know my risks?

My mom suffered a severe stroke at a young age, due to undiagnosed high blood pressure.  For her, that day started out just like any other day -- she felt fine, and had no idea what was going to happen.  Knowing your health risks gives you a chance to make lifestyle changes that can ultimately change your future.  Come in for a comprehensive evaluation and report of your current health status, and a physician’s treatment plan for what you can do in order to stay as healthy as possible – using prescription medications only when you absolutely need them. -- Dr. David

Tip from your HealthCoach

Food Allergies? Think Raw!  Raw foods are unprocessed plant foods that retain the food’s natural enzymes.  Because raw foods are plant-based, those with allergies to milk, dairy or seafood can enjoy raw foods without risk of a reaction.  Since raw foodists are very particular about the purity of their foods, you can even find nut butters and meal supplements that are completely peanut- and dairy-free.  Raw food is also more easily digested and its nutrients are more easily assimilated.
